Last week, we were talking about Device group, Category and Atmosphere.

Surly now you know the very basic standards ATEX focus on.

So, what does the number stand for? Please see belows:

II3GEx nA nL IICT4(ZONE 2)

Color in SAGE here, talked last week:

II3G – Other explosive areas apart from mining, and used in zone 2. G stands for GAS.

 

Purple:

Explosion Protection

 

Raspberry:

Type of Protection – There are various types of destroy, such as sparks, flames and explosion. This special measure is for the prevention of particular conditions.

nA – non-sparking,

nL – energy limited. (Chart A)

 

Light Blue:

Explosion Group – In case some explosion occurred to the chemistry area, and different ignition energies of the various gases, it is the further division for the products.

IIC most dangerous group (e.g. hydrogen) (Chart B)

 

Orange:

Temperature Class –

T4 stands for the surface temperature can reach to 135 degree (Chart C)
